Hello One More Time!,
Task 21 - I already belong to both Myspace and Facebook, so I'm going to talk about them. I have to say that I really don't think this is the way for librariaes to reach patrons. There;s so much extra junk (myspace) or inability to gain attention (facebook) that it wouldn't be worth it. Plus, even if you did get the attention of some people, it would be difficult to really reach them. They'd look at it for a sec or two and that would be it. I think there are much better ways for a library to promote itself. These sites are great for their purpose, however, which makes them good.
Task 22 - Well, it looks like things have come to an end. This has really been a great expirence anc if there were another program like this, I would definatly participate. I learned a lot about these sites and I will go back to quite a few of them now that this is over. I particularly liked the photo finding part as well as the photo animation sections. I also enjoyed looking for podcasts, and checking out our wiki. I particularly enjoyed giving some insight into myspace and facebook, and would be glad to give more if it would help. I think the one thing I might to to help this programs concept and design is work the timing out a little better. Perhaps make it a 22 week program to allow a week for each task. I know that I had a lot of trouble keeping up with this around my schoolwork so having more time for each would have been great. I really hope we do another one of these programs and that we can develop the library to be the best it can be!
Well, thats the last delivery!

Letter 8 - Tasks 18, 19, and 20
Hello Again,
Task 18 - A Youtube video. This is called "The Mean Kitty Song". It's hillarious. I found it a while back with the liferlibrarian and we both liked it, so I figured I'd post it. Enjoy!
I enjoy using Youtube to find videos of things that I can't find anywhere else. The only downside is when you find things that are not very good. But sifting through them is the only was to find the good stuff. I don't have any videos on Youtube myself, but I wouldn't be suprised if some of my friends were on there, lol! This site could be used to give interactive lessons about the library, it's functions, and it's processes. Also, interviews with authors could be on there as well.
Task 19 - Although I didn't find any on the topic, I'm sure that podcasts could be useful for book reviews, and for providing information about libraries. They are easy to listen to anytime making it easier to do in this busy workd of ours. I subscribed to one called the Pinfall Recall (Before I realised that they hadn't posted anything new in a while). It is basically about pro wrestling, which I watch a lot of. It seems pretty cool.
Task 20 - After searching Overdrive, I found that there were a lot of titles that would be good to listen to. I may go back and download one, if I have the time. I think that e-books and e-audio books are great for people that either don't have the time to read a book or who maybe can't see well enough to read one. For those who can however, I still say there is nothing like curling up with a good book!

Letter 7 - Tasks 16 and 17 -
Task 16 - This is the trophy I made on RedKid.net. I think it's a pretty cool one. I like all of the online features because it allows you more freedom of location of PC. I have to say however, that I don't think they will ever be able to replace desktop software, such as Microsoft Office, simply because they have far more power and variabillity. I would hope that patrons and even employees would find these features useful. I know I do.
Task 17 - Looking at the list of sites on the Web 2.0 award list, one that i use quite frequently stuck out at me. I am a member of the social networking site Facebook and I use it quite frequently. It is one of my favorite sites for keeping in touch with my friends. I have been a member for several years now and have watched the site evolve from a reletivly small site that required a member for have a valid college e-mail address to join, into a site for both college students and high school students, and then into what it is today. In addition to the standard pictures feature, wall and messaging features, and groups you can join, there are literally hundereds of applications you can add (most of which are created by outside sources) which can enhance a profile. The only current downside I see to Facebook right now is that is it slowly becoming more like myspace. It is becoming easier to keep tabs on people, easier to join, and easier to become just another member. Facebook is slowly losing it's personal touch. However, it's major advantage is the much better privacy controls, which allow a member to control exactly what can be seen and accessed by whom. All in all, Facebook is a great site for teens in high school and college to keep in touch over distance, or just to chat and post fun pictures.

Letter 6 - Tasks 14 and 15 - Wiki's
Greetings Again,
Task 14 - I was already quite familiar with wiki's, but learning more about them was helpful. I can see libraries using wiki's to help patrons understand where materials are located, or how to seach the catalogs. It could also be a way for Librarians to post reccomendations for materials, as well as advice for patrons in terms of reference. It could also be a way for patrons to give their opinions on what features they would like their library to provide. The library could also post statistics in terms of what they have in their collection. This would help patrons understand what they have access to.
Task 15- The NFL 2.0 wiki is cool! I like how we can all list things, but the pages are not a fruitful as they would have been if more people had made it this far. I added my blog to the list, and I am going to go back and add a TV show and a Movie as well. I like the idea of having a place where everyone can show their common intrests and things like that. I hope that page continues to be used even after this is done.

Letter 5 - Tasks 11, 12, and 13 - Tagging, Library 2.0, etc.
Hello Again,
Task 11 - I explored del.ic.ous for a while and found it to be a neat little tool. I searched a few things and found some stuff I doubt I would have found otherwise. I can see how useful it is as a reference and search tool, and as a presonal bookmarking tool, it would be invaluable. I dn't use that many computers outside of my own, so I don't really need it yet, but at some point in the future, I might. I will deifnatley use this next time I need to do reasearch for something.
Task 12 - I looked through Technorati and found that different searches yielded different results. When I searched blog posts, most of them related to Learning 2.0, like we are doing, but when searching blogs in general, there was no connection, except for a few. When looking through the most popular blogs, I noticed that many of the blogs are about gadgets and technology. Other then that, the topics were pretty varied. This is a good tool if you like to read blogs and want to keep track of the ones you have, or to find new blogs to read.
Task 13 - To me, Library 2.0 is the expansion of existing knowledge and resources, integrated with the social aspect of interpersonal relations. It eventually becomes less about the resources and more about the people. The exchange of informaton is whats at the heart of it all, and what a library will always be about.
